"Best sandwich I've ever had. I've been to so many places and not a single one comes close to offering a sandwich as unique and delicious as here. The chimichurri is a wonderful flavour with the perfectly cooked meat. The people behind the counter are very chill and definitely look happy to see people enjoying the food. I live an hour away and would definitely make the trip just for this sandwich.
There's no seating inside since it's just a little nook, but there is a small bench outside."
Morla Phan "WOW! Just completely WOW and AMAZING!
I strolled past this place for the first time yesterday, heard about them in the media and decided to give them a try.
My taste buds have never been so much HAPPIER!
I ordered the Beef Steak, and it was cooked to perfection.
The meat was tender and melted in my mouth.
The steak was seasoned to perfection!
The CHEFS/COOKS at BEAR Steak Sandwiches understand and know what it means to season meat.
They understand the complexities and layering of seasoning that make the end result =PERECTION!
What I really love about this place is the extra outdoor seating around the restaurant, allowing for casual conversation with like-minded people who truly love steak and pork to converse & mingle!
Mind you I couldn't help notice being judged by the VEGANS as they walked past me. LOL. Oh well.
If you love Steak. If you love Pork. If you love great food and great customer service and friendly like-minded people all sharing the joy of great food, then this is definitely the place for you!
BEAR Steak Sandwiches = perfection!"
Sandi Cole "So simple but done so well! I love the simplified menu and each component of the sandwiches are so high quality and worth every penny. We tried the Original Steak Sandwich as well as the Jarritos Off Menu Food Tour Special (Bistecca Sul Tavolo). Both sandwiches were really good but the original wins for me. I loved the Stracciatella on the special and it’s definitely worth trying before it’s gone. The original is the perfect sandwich. The bread is nice and soft and the chimichurri adds the perfect freshness to the heavy portion of steak. I only wish there was somewhere to sit to enjoy the sandwiches on the spot. I definitely recommend coming early since they were out of sides by the time we went (~6pm)."
Vibusha V "The Bear Steak Sandwich is an ABSOLUTE must try when in the city. Not only is the steak cooked to absolute perfection and LOADED between those buns, but the chimichurri sauce is the perfect addition, making this combination INSANE!
We also got the Roast Pork Sandwich and you cannot pass this one up, I’m officially obsessed! These are hands down the best sandwiches we’ve had in the city, and we can’t shut up about them.
The staff and owners are also some of the kindest people we have met, they are so passionate about every sandwich that leaves their doors! They are doing such an excellent job in there!
Extra points because this whole place is a VIBE!!!"
Sara Eva "I’m a man of culture and glutton. I partake in many cultures foods, and deeply - nothing gets me fired up like a bbq than good food, and Bear Steak delivers. We ordered one of each sandwich to dabble in all the flavour profiles, and when I tell you the pork sandwich hit me like a Mike Tyson uppercut. The flavour was unmatched in the hundreds of pork sammies I’ve consumed in my life.
The steak sandwich was a wonderful blend of spice and steak, perfectly crafted like a work of art. As the glutton I am, I dipped my steak sandwich in the pork dip and it elevated the sandwich beyond comprehension.
This sandwich shop is a must see for those of us who enjoy carb loading with meaty bread."
The Review Man "Consistently great sandwiches with great monthly specials. We ordered the 2 sandwiches on the menu plus their special and each sandwich was unique and delicious. We got there at opening and there was a bit of a line but they continuously take orders so it moves along pretty well. My favourite sandwich is their classic steak sandwich but the pork one is just as good! Definitely a must try if you plan on doing a Toronto sandwich crawl."
